Dr. J. Mark Muñoz
Land of My Birth

Land of My Birth
is best described as a contemporary version of Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere. It rallies the now global Filipinos to look back to their motherland and respond to the socio-cultural challenges confronted by the country. In his text, author Dr. Mark Munoz, discusses the issues by catering to the readers' heart as well as the mind. It is intelligent as it is moving. The proposed solutions featured in the book have been described as downright honest and accurate. This book is a must-read for all Filipinos and all who care about the Philippines. Initial book reviews have been glowing.

Land of My Birth is certainly the most in-depth, comprehensive, and thoroughly researched treatise on the Philippines and its current state of affairs. It is powerful and moving. This book should quickly become required reading for all Filipinos, Filipino Americans, and anyone else with a true and abiding concern for Filipinos across the world.”
(David Maguiling, Filipino-American Film Director)

Land of My Birth is a must read for our country’s policy makers, the would-be-and-current overseas workers, their families and friends. It is a tour de force about what makes the Philippines tick and what ails it. Seldom have I read a book about our country that analyzes cogently and with scholastic finesse what happens when pragmatic economic demands compel our people to abandon centuries held sociocultural values.
(Sen. Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel, Philippine Senator)

“Dr. Muñoz weaves unadorned facts into an unapologetic account of the present socio-economic situation of his country. The recommendations are doable. Bureaucrats who care for the Philippines’s success can gain a lot by reading this book. Land of My Birth is good company.”
(Michelle P. So, Managing Editor, Sun Star Daily, Philippines)
