with special musical guests

The book will be sold at the event ($19.99), and all book proceeds from this event will benefit the historic preservation advocacy work and programming of the Little Manila Foundation
(http://www.littlemanila.net).

The book, authored by Dawn B. Mabalon, Rico J. Reyes, and the Stockton Chapter of the Filipino American National Historical Society and the Little Manila Foundation, is a community collaboration which features more than 200 photographs from archives and family photo albums and short essays on Filipino American life in Stockton. Through most of the 20th century, Stockton was home to the largest community of Filipinos outside of the Philippines. Because countless Filipinos worked in, passed through, and settled here, it became the crossroads of Filipino America. The authors will discuss the process of the community collaborative effort for the book, show photographs from the book, and discuss the history of Filipinos in Stockton.
